Schema.org’s FAQ pages need to be on their own separate page that is specifically marked as “FAQPage”, so having FAQs within another page is not the way to effectively implement that and in line with the Schema.org markup. Schema.org does support a Product option for structured data (https://schema.org/Product), but not specifically for FAQs within the product page.
Nevertheless, having valuable product information in Q&A format within your product page WILL help with getting into more search results and your SEO efforts in general. Product Q&A is important to get unique content on your product page that is indexed for other search phrases and queries, help your duplicate product description SEO issues, and help with your ecommerce SEO in general.
There are two ways that this can be managed which will bring you results on your product page:
Ideal Scenario: Ideally that is managed through markup on the page, and Answerbase offers APIs in order for developers to support that and ensure that the question and answers are within the HTML markup on the page. You may run into some limits on this depending on the ecommerce platform you're working with, but if you have the resources and your platform allows for you to effectively integrate other functionality into your templates using 3rd party APIs to get the markup on the page when rendering....this is the recommended options for established stores.
Most Common Scenario, and Still Gives Results: For customers who don’t have the resources to implement product Q&A through API….Answerbase has a JavaScript snippet which will publish the Q&A content when the page is rendered. Google does actually read what the JavaScript is spitting out…and that will help ensure that your product page is recognized as having that content on it…..but the ideal integration, if possible, is having the markup on the page.
We do recommend you take advantage of product Q&A to increase ecommerce traffic, and then as your platform and resources mature....you can optimize as you're able to improve the results....but with any decent product Q&A integration you should see results in both conversions and an increase in traffic.
