First you need to understand what Google is looking for with the "popular products" tables as you see one here:
They are driven by product structured data....see Googles announcement about it here which talks about it.
So, you'll want to ensure that you have product structured data effectively implemented on your site....with Product Structured Data and Product Group structured data (for variants). SEO's like Brodie Clark has reported dramatic increases in visibility in Google Search Console's "merchant listings" report by just ensuring proper Product Structured data is implemented for ecommerce sites. See a chart he shared in that report here after adding ProductGroup to cover variants:
Once you've ensured that your product pages are being seen and eligible for those merchant listings...then it's a matter of optimizing them with "people first helpful content" and Answerbase's AI-Enhanced optimization tools enable you to do this in less than 5-10 minutes per page. Google has clearly communicated they're looking to reward sites and pages that have people first helpful content (as they've incorporated the "Helpful Content System" into their core ranking systems) and Answerbase enables that....which has helped take over several of those top spots....see example here of a customer with a domain rating of ZERO!
