Q&A Thread "Canonical tag" Setting
Different customers have different preferences on how to manage specific Q&A threads, and which threads they'd like to act as their own page for SEO purposes and which threads where they actually want that content to live on other pages on their website but also be available on a page in the knowledge base. For these purposes, Answerbase gives them the ability to point the canonical tag for Q&A threads to any parent pages they may want to reference.
The "parent pages" will be one of the following:
NOTE: If there is no parent page available for a thread then the setting will be disabled and you won't be able to edit that.
The "parent pages" will be one of the following:
- Product Details Page: If a Q&A thread was spawned from a product, it may be a customers choice to have the Q&A content be featured and displayed prominently on that product details page. In some cases, customers have asked for the knowledge base Q&A page to recognize the product page as being the original home of the content so we've given them the option through this functionality.
- Parent Content Page: If a Q&A thread was spawned from another page of content on a website (article, blog post, etc.), it may be a customers choice to have the Q&A content be featured and displayed prominently on that content page. In some cases, customers have asked for the knowledge base Q&A page to recognize the content page as being the original of the content so we've given them the option through this functionality.
