The community functions can be turned off, which will make it so questions remain private between you and the person asking...and you can manage that one on one interaction. When you submit an answer, they will get an email, and then be asked to login before seeing it....so you can ensure that it is private communication.
You can find the configuration options to accomplish this under "System Settings > General Settings" in your admin area. Click the image below for a screenshot of where you can achieve this.
