Yes, if you go to System Settings > General Settings, you can customize Answerbase to allow the students to log in without registering and turn off the profile option so the students can remain anonymous. They will be required to enter an email address so that Answerbase can alert them when their question has been answered, but their email is not visible to anyone. Click on the image below to view a screenshot of where this can be achieved.
