Answerbase is a SaaS solution, so the product/code is not open source and in most cases the code is 100% maintained by our staff. On the basic/professional/business plans our customers simply manage their platform and manage any customizations through the administration interface....you can see all the options available by signing up for a free trial and browsing around. For enterprise level implementations, we do have a "self hosted" option....but that is much more expensive.
