If you don't want to have to moderate new users, you can select "System Settings > General Settings" in your administrative area, and then scroll down and select "Grant new members access & member permissions immediately." Then to stop the emails concerning new members signing up, select "Moderator Area" in your administrative area, then click on the "Edit Your_Profile Moderation Settings" buttom. Within that area, the email notifications for new users can be turned off. Click on the images below for a few screenshots of where these tasks can be accomplished.
