The Browsing Option setting controls whether or not users will be able to browse by your offerings (products, services, etc.). You may want to have this disabled if you have a huge number of offerings (let's say 10K products) but don't have them categorized appropriately for user friendly browsing....since its impractical for users to browse through the huge amount of product titles to find the one they're looking for. In that case, they have the search option which allows them to effectively find the content they're looking for in a user friendly way.
