Yes, Answerbase supports category subscriptions where users are able to identify specific categories or products that they'd like to receive notifications about. When they're logged in, they can see the settings to do that under "Subscriptions" within their account where they have a few choices as you see below.
They can choose whether they'd like to be notified about every new question, or just questions that are associated with specific categories or products.
Administration Portal
As an administrator, you can also manage each user's subscriptions by navigating to their profile in the administration portal. When you view the user's profile, you can go under the "Member" tab and then click "Subscriptions" in the subnavigation in order to see and manage their subscriptions.
Integration Options
You can also lead users to subscribe to specific categories or products within your own site, as they're viewing category-specific content, if they order a specific product, etc. In your administration portal you'll see we have a Subscription Widget under "Integration > Subscription Widget" which will give users the option to subscribe to a specific topic similar to what you see here:
This allows you to engage users to become active members of your customer community, so they can be notified when questions are asked that they're able to contribute to.
