Yes, you can edit how many points are allocated for the different activity on the site. You can manage that under "System Settings > Point System" in your administration site. See an example of the settings here:
You can edit those settings in your administration area in order to ensure that you create an adequate incentive your users in order to encourage the activity that you want to see on the system, whether that be with your team as they answer questions or if you're creating an incentive for a larger community of users.
You can also give out bonus points/recognition through the use of badges, which reward users additional points as you recognize them for their activity on the system. You can create new badges under "System Settings > Badges" in your administration site, where you can create a badge and determine how many points the user should be awarded when they receive that badge.
