When copying and pasting from other sources (instead of just asking or answering within a field in your browser) it can cause formatting issues, because there are formatting tags that you can't see from the original content source that are getting pasted in along with the text that you actually see. Most of the time you won't be able to see these "hidden" tags that cause issues, but sometimes you will and you'll wonder why it's not just pasting the text you're expecting to see.
Examples of this are these:
There is a way to get around this, and that is to copy/paste into a very simple text editor like Microsoft's "Notepad". This will ensure that all of those background tags are no longer present....and then you can copy/paste from Notepad into the Answerbase text editor and you'll see that it comes in clean. Then you can edit from there within the Answerbase editor and post the content, and you shouldn't have formatting issues from there.
Examples of this are these:
- If you copy text from Microsoft Word into a rich text editor within a browser, there are a ton of formatting tags that are pasted in along with your content....and those formatting tags can (most likely will) cause formatting issues.
- If you copy text from a webpage and paste it into a rich text editor, the formatting and tags that were on that website are pasted in along with the text, which is why many times you'll see colors and fonts inconsistent with the editor's default.
