On average, we see that 21% of Q&A's over time have conversion attribution. Now...keep in mind how this fits into the full picture, we see the following through the content creation journey.
What does this mean?
That means that MOST of the value of you publishing Q&A on your site comes after the very first person who asks the question. We've seen customers with up to 61% of their published Q&A's with conversion attribution over time....and what it speaks to, is the relevance of the content published and how valuable it has been to a customer on the purchasing journey.
What if I receive the "ACTION RECOMMENDED - FOCUS ON Q&A RELEVANCE" notice?
If you see a notification on your dashboard that says "ACTION RECOMMENDED - FOCUS ON Q&A RELEVANCE", it means that we've detected that less than 5% of the Q&A pairs that you've published have conversion attribution. This is much lower than our average, and so we'd just like to have you double check your process for approving/publishing Q&A's to your site and ensure that somebody's thinking with every Q&A post of "is this going to be useful for a future visitor?". If the answer is yes, you should publish it. But...if it actually is valuable....that should play out in helping customers within their purchasing journey and a decent amount of those questions we should see them have conversion attribution over time.
It May Take Time, But Just Be Honest About Your Content
Since almost 65% of the value of you publishing content comes after the first person, it is a matter of ensuring that there has been enough time for each Q&A thread to be seen and helpful....so if you're a relatively new customer it may just take a bit of time before you get over this threshold. But, we do encourage you to just be honest with your publishing practices and ensuring that the Q&A you're publishing is relevant to potential buyers of each product. We've seen customers hire interns that just go through and publish a ton of content, but they're not being at all selective with what they publish and they're not adding ANY value to the content.....so we'd like to just guide towards quality to ensure you're getting the value out of Q&A that you're expecting.
If you feel you've been doing everything well and still seeing a super low percentage of your Q&A threads with conversion attribution, please contact our team and we'll help you troublehshoot and ensure you're getting an appropriate ROI.
- On average, 7.5% of engagements with publicly published Q&A content convert visitors to a sale
- On average, 8% of newly published answers will convert that customer to a sale
- BUT, MOST IMPORTANTLY.....on average, 21% of Q&A pairs over time have conversion attribution!
