Users can subscribe to the categories they like or are knowledgeable about, and they will get an email update on when a new question is posted in that category. There is no need to configure anything on your end, but you can encourage site involvement though category subscription by going to System Settings>General Settings and scrolling down to "Subscription Encouragement." Here you can choose for Answerbase to display a prompt for encouraging category subscription after a user asks/answers a question.
