In your Admin area, go to System Settings > General Settings. Here you can set your site to private which will prevent anyone from viewing your data without being signed in. After setting your site to "Private," scroll down a little farther and select "Approve members before giving user access and member permissions." Once these two actions are completed, nobody can view your data unless you approve them and they are logged in. Click on the images below to view screenshots of where these can be achieved.
