When your customers are looking at your products and considering a purchase, it's important that you give them the most helpful information to assist on their purchasing journey. Answerbase sees a 7.5% conversion rate when customers engage with Q&A content....so you want to ensure that you're providing the most helpful Q&A content related to your products that you have to offer. Answerbase helps enable this through it's "relevance" list filter on it's Q&A widget that shows helpful Q&A content on your product page.
How does the relevance filter work?
To get the best results, you want to provide information that is (1) as specific as possible to the customer's needs and (2) has proven to be most useful for the most people in the past based on real data. When it comes to helping customers with Q&A related to products....Answerbase achieves this with the "relevance" filter which will show the customer the best helpful information that you have created that is most relevant to the product that they're looking at. The "relevance" filter shows questions ordered from most relevant to the page to least relevant to the page governed by the product, category, or "all products" association to the questions. This is how we prioritize what we show when you're using the "relevance" filter:
Answerbase's goal is to provide the end customer with the best information that we have available that can be helpful in their purchasing journey, so that is what the relevance filter is built to accomplish as you answer your customer's questions and those are distributed around your site based on this filter. All your team should have to do is answer questions and then ensure that the Q&A's are associated with the appropriate product(s), category(ies), or "All Products"...and then this distribution is automated through the "relevance" filter.
How to Associate Q&A's to Products, Categories, or "All Products"?

The "relevance" filter shows questions ordered from most relevant to the page to least relevant to the page governed by the product, category, or "all products" association to the questions. This is how we prioritize what we show when you're using the "relevance" filter:
- Popular Product Q&A: If the customer is looking at a specific product and we have Q&A that is specifically related to that product, that is the Q&A content that we show first which is original to that product page and the most focused content we have to help the visitor related to the purchase of that specific product. When we have multiple Q&A's related to that specific product, we will sort that content based on what has proven to be most valuable in the past which takes into account previous customer engagement, what customers have asked in the past, and search volume for that information through organic searches. This helps show the most valuable information that is the most specific information we have related to that product as a priority.
- Related Categories Q&A: If we don't have any product-specific Q&A or don't have enough to fill the widget up with content.....the "relevance" filter basically starts looking at the "next best information" of what content do we have that is relevant in the purchasing process for the visitor. We do this by showing Q&A related to the categories that the product is associated with....and showing the most helpful Q&A's that we have within those categories. This ensures that if you have helpful information for customers who are considering that category of product....we can share that information on the product page as well. Similar to the product Q&A noted above.....we sort the category level Q&A content based on demand data.....which takes into account previous customer engagement, what customers have asked in the past, and search volume for that information through organic searches. You can read more about how Answerbase recognizes the product/category relationship.
- Q&A Related to "All Products": If you don't have any (or enough) Q&A related to the product the customer is looking at and if you also don't have any (or enough) Q&A related to the categories that product is within....then we can show any Q&A's that you associated to "All Products"....which many times will be quesetions related to your business (like "where are you located?", "how long have you been in business?", etc.) or related to site-wide policies like returns, shipping, etc.
