We get a lot of questions about the timing of results when it comes to answering questions...and how those are fed into search engines, how long it takes for the search engines to digest that content...and when you can see results. So, we have many examples of this and how this plays out for Ecommerce FAQs to drive anywhere from 10% to 50% of an ecommerce merchant's organic traffic....but let's show you another customer and how this played out. We'll speak more towards how much traffic is being seen and perhaps could be expected for every ecommerce FAQ you publish.
Starting in November 2024
This customer stared with us in November and 2024....and see how things have gone since then with Google Search Console's 12 month report so we can see the full journey since the start with the ecommerce FAQ content starting to be published....
So....you'll see with this example...for the first few months it is a slow trickle....and then things start to get interesting after 5-6 months or so. But, let's dig into the traffic vs how much effort this SMB ecommerce merchant has applied....
Avg of 86 Yearly Visitors for Every FAQ Posted
When we dig into the data a bit here....we see that there has been 287 pages that have been indexed....and that is growing....
But consider this.....there have only been 296 FAQ content pieces that were actually crawled (not just discovered by Google, but actually crawled). Out of those....only 6 pages were not indexed.
The other 3 have been redirected.
98% of Ecommerce FAQs Are Indexed!
Since 3 have been redirected, we'll subtract that from the 296 total crawled...so that leaves us with 293 total crawled. Out of that....only 6 were crawled but not indexed.
CONCLUSION: 98% of their ecommerce FAQs were crawled and indexed by Google!!!!
That's a big deal, Google and AI needs the FAQ content related to ecommerce products....so when you put it out there...they gobble it up and it performs. Now, since this site has made a modest effort with how much content they've published.....let's use the current activity to project what their efforts may lead to in the future.
Averages 88 New Customer Visits Per FAQ Per Year!
Since we know how many FAQ pairs have been posted, we can do some math around how much traffic each specific Q&A pair they publish is driving. Now...to do this...we'll digest how many individual Q&A pairs they have published. Answerbase does publish content other than individual ecommerce FAQ pairs....for example we have collections of FAQs organized by ecommerce collection (for example, FAQs related to soccer cleats, hand lotions, etc. and all of the FAQs that are the most frequently asked on each product or collection).....so with the above example let's look at how many individual FAQs that Google has recognized on their site.
Then...they are on a growth trajectory so this may/should be more in the future...but let's take the last 28 days of activity and what that content has driven....
So...let's do the math on that....
Total Organic Clicks Last 28 Days: 1,830
Total Individual Ecommerce FAQs: 248
That means that there are on average 7.3 visits per month per ecommerce FAQ posted.
Project Out for The Next 12 Months
If you have 7.3 visits per questions posted per month.....that means that for every FAQ pair they're posting....that will drive on average 88.5 new customers over the next 12 months!
Now it's about scaling. Answerbase can feed merchants with the full demand for information related to each of their products....through our AI-Enhanced Ecommerce FAQ Workflows.....we can identify what questions are being asked on search engines related to your products, what questions have been answered on competitor sites, what questions are being asked on forums, etc, etc, etc.....we encourage you to watch this video which covers the different types of recommendations we can pull for you.
So, we'll let you know what your customers are looking for as far as what their actual "Frequently Asked Questions" are....you just need to have the product knowledge and fulfill it.
As far as what's next with this customer...it all depends on how quickly they have time to scale great answers related to their products. We've seen customers go from zero to over 600K organic visits per month within the first year of having an account with Answerbase. See example here:
The "run rate" of the traffic on the above customer is 1.4 million new organic visitors over the next 12 months if that activity over the last 28 days just sustains (it continues on a growth trajectory so should be more).
